Joseph Ashmore, UN-Habitat, and Tom Corsellis, Shelter Centre, presented a discussion on developing a set of case studies of transitional shelter projects as a catalogue of emergency shelter options, and the development of guidelines on transitional shelter. The case studies will be designed for an audience of programme managers and field staff, and will include all regions, lessons learned, photos, diagrams and discussions on what did or didn’t work. The aim for the transitional shelter guidelines is to produce a 20-30 page booklet with simple explanations for providing transitional shelters.
Actions:
UN-Habitat agreed to:
- make a first draft of the case studies available by September 2008.
Shelter Centre agreed to:
- circulate prelminary drafts of the transitional guidelines via email for review and response.
