Mr. Mark Wooding presented a project developed by Medair in Badakhshan Province in NE Afghanistan, an area affected by flooding and earthquakes.

He presented two types of post-disaster shelter implemented in that region:

  • The Pilot T-Shelter, made by timber poles, tarpaulin, rope, fixings, insulation sheets and other NFIs, with a final cost of USD 500
  • The Pilot E-Shelter, constructed with timber poles, planks, cement, one roll wire mesh, galvanised wire, barbed wire, grain bags and fixings, with a final cost of USD 1000.
