This study aims to (1) assess the context in which agricultural foreign direct investments take place, (2) identify characteristic features of the process, (3) assess the early impacts of the investments on people’s livelihood and the environment, and (4), elaborate on recommendations for the involved actors, especially Welthungerhilfe.
