African countries: Nigeria, The Gambia, Senegal and Sierra Leone. This first draft report of the investigation is intended for use during a consultation process with relevant role players, in order to develop a common understanding of the problems and challenges facing the respective countries, and to develop joint strategies to counter them. Comment, criticism and further contributions to this document are therefore most welcome. COHRE will present its conclusions and its recommendations for future policies, and for actions that will be most effective in recognising, honouring, and ensuring the fulfilment of the basic human right of adequate housing, for everyone, everywhere. It is no exaggeration to say that the lives of millions and millions of people are affected by this issue.
