Almost every year earthquake disasters occur in various areas in Indonesia and despite of the severe impact on the regional economy and development, it seems that relatively little is being done to prepare for, prevent or mitigate, the effects of future earthquakes. This paper discusses rural and urban non-engineered buildings in Indonesia and tries to get information that is useful to correlate the actual damage with analysis.
