Asia Pacific is the most disaster prone region of the world, suffering on average, 40% of global disasters each year. For decades, the IFRC has been working with Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies and hazard prone communities on disaster risk reduction projects. This film explores the scope of these interventions. It includes vulnerability capacity and assessment training in Sri-Lanka, disaster simulations in Indonesia and mangrove reforestation in Vietnam. The video is also a call to action to governments to invest more in disaster risk reduction and to enact legislation and policies that supports risk reduction efforts at the local level.
