The speaker reported on the first USAID workshop on shelter and settlement, which was held this year in Washington D.C. with the aim of bringing similar discourse to that of the Shelter Meeting to North America. He presented the summary of proceedings of that workshop, the new USAID publication Shelter and SettlementWorkshop Report (12MB ).

The speaker reported that there had also been discussion about creating a registry of shelter specialists.
