Bosnia-Herzegovina: Rehabilitation of housing and schools for returning refugees in the district of Tuzla

After the end of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, Central Bosnian settlements faced the challenges of dealing with returning refugees and displaced people. Tuzla faced particular housing pressures meaning that damaged homes needed to be made habitable again. This document describes the rehabilitation of private and public housing, as well as schools, which was conducted with municipal governments, beneficiaries, the district refugee authorities, and UNHCR representatives. The work was completed according to minimal finishing standards, based on World Bank guidelines.
