This report discusses how wind damages buildings, how to assess damage, and how to build or strengthen structures to avoid wind damage. While it is attempted to give information for planning and development of wind-resistant buildings, the engineer at the operational level as well as the common man have very much been kept in focus. This document has been developed under the project on Building Codes sponsored by Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority, Gandhinagar at IndianInstitute of Technology, Kanpur.
