India is one of the project countries for “Reducing vulnerability of school children to earthquakes”. The unique geo-geographic setting at the northern-western fringe of the youngest mountain chain (The Himalayas) placed Himachal Pradesh in the most active seismic zone (Zone V).So, in India the project activities are to be carried out in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The project envisages the development of the training manual for technicians on designing of earthquake resistant buildings and two training programs for the technician on the usage of the training manual.
