Jacobo Quintanilla (Internews) and Anita Shah (Infoasaid) remotely presented on humanitarian information and needs assesment in Dadaab, Kenya.
Emphasis was put on the necessity of information for as well as communication with affected populations.
Findings of conducted research on communication and information needs of refugees in Dadaab showed that the major sources of informations are radios, friends, families and mobile phones; and that communication with aid providers is generally not possible.
The Infoasaid initiative presented further on offers tools and resources to improve the communication situation.
