Disaster risk management (DRM), including disaster risk reduction (DRR), has received increased attention in Pakistan since the 2005 earthquake and the 2010 floods. In particular, development actors have shown a growing interest in community-based disaster risk management (CBDRM). However, little seems to be known about the impact of CBDRM, due to limited implementation and a very limited evidence base. This report offers an overview of what has failed and what has worked, why and how.
