The present Catalogue of Items or Emergency Relief is the result of one such project, conducted by the Inter-Agency Procurement Services Office of the United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP/IAPSO), with the aim of developing generic specifications for emergency relief items to be provided during the initial phase of a disaster. It has been built upon the years of expertise and experience accumulated within the United Nations system and the international relief community.
