Felix de Vries, Netherlands Red Cross, discussed vulnerabilities of
large-scale shelter provisions, such as a limited stock supply and
production capacity, and the need to find alternatives, including the
use of local materials and labour. The goal of the initiative is to
work more closely with universities and manufacturers to promote
innovation and research capacity. Felix de Vries also discussed various
prototype shelters and how they performed during testing.
