This housing report is looking at housing typologies in India, with a focus on the Dhajji Dewari.
The Dhajji Dewari is a traditional building type found in the western Himalayas. . Such houses are found in both the Pakistan and Indian Administered Kashmir. This form of construction is also referred to in the Indian Standard Codes as brick nogged timber frame construction. Dhajji most commonly (but not exclusively) consists of a braced timber frame.
