This publication describes the services that GRIP provides to national and local governments as well as to the international risk identification community. GRIP established standard procedures and methodologies to collect and analyze disaster loss data with a high level of resolution, through its National DIsaster Observatories, as well as to perform multi-hazard risk assessments at the national and local level, and to apply their results into concrete policy measures. It provides the appropriate institutions with support in the implementation of the programmes. This activities are further supported by an online collection of capacity development tools. Their results are then consolidated and diffused through GRIPweb's thematic portals for risk assessment and loss data collection. The publication, not for direct use, is mainly targeted at UNDP country officers and national and local institutions willing to implement any of the described activities, as well as to GRIPweb general audience.
