Ian O’Donnell, Provention Consortium, discussed how insurance is a key
component in disaster risk management. Working towards disaster risk
reduction, he promoted micro-insurance and partnering with the private
sector, shared successful experiences with insurance in mitigating
risk, and proposed further development in insurance programmes,
including partnering international and local NGOs.
